"Remember your work here is the first challenge to enter the Mathematikoi Society!

Here are the steps you must take to complete the tasks. 

          Visit each link provided on the Resource Page.  Gather as much information as possible.  Feel free to re-visit the links as often as you wish.  Some of the links will give you key definitions of important terms.  Other links will give you the background history of the Platonic Solids or give you a very in-depth explanation of these figures.  You will need all the  links provided to complete all three tasks.

Submission Article
  1. You will want to use as many of the sites as possible in your submission article on the Platonic Solids.  Remember proper grammar is required.  Submissions are to be typed, using a word processor.  Support your answers with mathematical facts.  Remember to include at least on paragraph one the following questions:
bullet  What are the Platonic Solids?
bullet  How many Platonic Solids are there? 
bullet  Why is there a limit to the possible number of Platonic Solids?

Worksheet
  1. Once you have collected all your information you will print and complete a worksheet covering the Platonic Solids and their faces, edges, and vertices.  I recommend that you complete this chart before writing your submission article.  Feel free to use the other links to assist you in completing this worksheet.

Creations
  1. Lastly you will create your very own set of Platonic Solids.  These will be used to decorate your section of the society’s secret meeting place (our classroom).  A link will be provided to a website that you can print a template of the Platonic Solids.  Be Creative!  Do not just use white paper.  Decorate these solids to be unique and your own.
